Police conducting a welfare check at a Nebraska home Sunday morning found two children dead inside.

6 News reported that investigators and a forensics team were on the scene in Bellevue, a Sarpy County city adjacent to Offut Air Force Base south of Omaha, some seen outside looking through trash.

Neighbors told the outlet that a boy and a girl live at the home and that they are around 3 to 5 years old.

Bellevue police have provided no further information, including who requested the welfare check.
