Missing woman’s body is found in the woods — and cops don’t know how she got there

A missing Alabama woman was reportedly found dead last week in a wooded area.

According to AL.com, Jenita Maldonado, 29, was found deceased off County Road 20 near Newton on June 3. Police said her body was identified through dental records.

While authorities do not believe foul play was involved, they are in the process of ascertaining where Maldonado was in the three weeks leading up to the discovery of her remains. AL.com reported that she lived in Montgomery.

Moldonado’s cause of death has not been disclosed. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call the Dale County Sheriff’s Office at 334-774-2335.
