Missing North Carolina Girl – Not Seen in More Than a Month – May Be in Virginia

Authorities in North Carolina are looking for a 16-year-old girl who hasn’t been seen since August 8, although she had been in contact with her mother in Guatemala.

The Gastonia Police Department said that Sherly Elizabeth Morales Caniz may be with 21-year-old Ribaldo Lopez, who also goes by Lusvin Lopez Perez, and that both may be n the Alexandria, Virginia, area.

Caniz is described as 5 feet tall and 120 pounds with brown eyes and dark hair.

Police say both they and her family are concerned for her welfare.
