Fort Hood Soldier Jennifer Sewell Disappears From Texas Army Post

Fort Hood officials are looking for a missing soldier who was last seen leaving the Texas post Thursday afternoon.

Pfc. Jennifer Sewell was seen leaving her on-post barracks at about 4 p.m. Thursday, the Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services said, according to NBC News.

She was reported missing when she didn’t report to work and failed to respond to calls from her family, superiors, or law enforcement.

Sewell is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. Officials did not disclose other information.

Emergency Services said they don’t know why Sewell left Fort Hood.

A series of soldiers have disappeared from Fort Hood over the past few years. Last year, 39 soldiers disappeared or died, 13 of them suicides.

Those include Vanessa Guillen, who disappeared in April last year and was found dead in June. She was killed by another soldier, Aaron David Robinson, who killed himself as police closed in on him. Robinson’s girlfriend and the estranged wife of another soldier, Cecily Aguilar, has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to tamper with evidence.
