5-year-old Girl Reported Missing in Georgia is Found Dead in Another State: Reports

A young girl reported missing from her Georgia home on Monday has been found deceased in Alabama.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Kamarie Holland was last seen around Bowman Street in Columbus, Georgia, on Monday morning. Police labeled Kamarie as “critically missing” but no further details were released.

On Tuesday, police confirmed that the child was found deceased in Phenix, Alabama. Fox 5 reports that Columbus resident Jeremy Tremaine Williams landed on police radar early on in the investigation. He’s now behind bars in connection with Kamarie’s death.

Investigators found Kamarie while searching Williams’ previous address in Alabama. Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said it appeared as if the child was sexually assaulted and then, asphyxiated.

Wiliams was found with his uncle at the Bamboo Hotel in Phenix City. He has been charged with capital murder and according to police, there may be more victims out there.

The suspect was previously arrested for child abuse. He was also a suspect in a 1-year-old’s death in Alaska, but charges were never filed against him.
