A British woman who’s behind bars in connection with the death of her toddler daughter is considered a “marked woman,” according to reports.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, amateur boxer Savannah Brockhill, 28, fatally punched 16-month-old Star Hobson in West Yorkshire after numerous friends and relatives expressed concern to social services, starting in January 2020.
Brockhill was dating Star’s mother, Frankie Smith, 20, who fended off social services by telling them the reports were made maliciously.
Smith was convicted of causing or allowing the death of a child. She was acquitted of murder and manslaughter as the jury found she never encouraged the attack that resulted in Hobson’s death. Smith is now at a West Yorkshire prison where Rose West, one of Britain’s most notorious serial killers is housed.
According to DailyMail, a source revealed that Frankie Smith has been targeted because of the severity of the crime.
“She’s a marked woman and it won’t be long before someone gets to her. She’s on the lifers’ wing so there are plenty of women with very little to lose who will attack her for the price of a few bars of chocolate or some toiletries.”
The source added that Smith is housed alone in a single cell on the Willow House wing. However, she is among the other inmates during meal times and shower times.
West was convicted of killing 10 people and sentenced to life without parole. Investigators think there may be an additional 20 victims, including her husband, buried in fields.
According to The Sun, West now spends her time knitting, painting, and watching television.
Meanwhile, Brockhill was convicted of murder and sentenced to spend life behind bars for beating Smith’s daughter to death. Court documents indicate that Star’s main vein, which carries blood to the heart from the legs and organs in the abdomen, had been torn. Her liver and the fatty attachments in her bowel were also severed.
A pathologist also found bruising on Star’s lower lungs and her pancreas, which was attributed to stamping, punching, or kicking.
Brockhill claimed that Star herself when she was not looking. She also suggested two small children caused the various injuries. However, the abuse was not only captured on CCTV but Brockhill and Smith filmed it and sent it to friends for their own enjoyment.
The pair would also add captions to the videos. According to The Guardian, the couple was heard laughing in videos as Hobson falls off a chair or down the stairs.
Brockhill is serving her time at the HMP Styal in Cheshire. GBN reports that she, too, is reportedly a marked woman and had to be separated for her own safety.
“She’ll be the number one target there. Prisoners will be queuing up to try and shank her,” a source said.
