BREAKING: California Woman Sara Celeste Otero Who Goes Missing After Trip to the Gym Just Found Dead

*Editor’s Note*: Celeste was not found inside a car as previously reported, police confirmed.

A California woman reported missing has been found dead, according to loved ones who have been desperately searching for her.

CrimeOnline has learned that Sara Celeste Otero was found dead, according to a family member. Otero was found in an unauthorized area of Camp Pendleton, police said Wednesday, according to the New York Post.

“Her body was found a short time later at the bottom of cliffs in a restricted area,” an Oceanside police spokesperson said. “She appears to have left her car and wandered into the restricted area.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Otero was last seen around 8:40 a.m. on January 28 leaving her mother’s Oceanside home in a gray Subaru Outback with California license plate 7GAB955. Oceanside is about 40 miles north of San Diego.

Otero reportedly told her stepfather that she was going to work out at the gym with a friend, but she allegedly did not go to her gym and the friend she mentioned had no idea of the plans.

Otero’s stepbrother, Ryan Bear, told KNSD-TV that when Otero hadn’t responded to text messages for about fours hours, he began inquiring with his family and realized there was a problem. Investigators believe her phone has been shut off since about 10 a.m. the day she vanished.

Hunter Snowden of KUSI News reports that Oceanside police found Otero Camp Pendleton, at the bottom of a cliff. A helicopter was utilized to retrieve her.

A cause of death has not yet been officially released, but foul play isn’t suspected.
