Florida Boy Shot to Death As Teens Take Turns Shooting at Each Other Wearing Body Armor

Two Florida teens have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 16-year-old boy.

Belleview police say that Christopher Leroy Broad Jr died on April 3 after being shot by Joshua Vining, 17, and that the boys “were taking turns shooting at each other while wearing a vest which contained a form of body armor,” according to WOFL.

Broad was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Vining has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm. Another boy, 17-year-old Colton Whitler, has been charged with providing false information to law enforcement.

Police say Whitler, while being interviewed as a witness to the shooting. gave inaccurate information about what happened and who shot Broad.

Both Vining and Whitler are being charged as adults, police said.
