Lengthy Waiting List for Motel Room Vicky and Casey White Stayed In While Hiding From Cops: Reports

More than 65 people are looking to stay in the Indiana motel room Alabama corrections officer Vicky White and capital murder suspect Casey White stayed in before they were tracked down by authorities.

An anonymous motel clerk at Motel 41 in Evansville told WHNT that room 150, which Vicky and Casey White, 57 and 38, paid a registered sex offender $100 to reserve for them on May 3, has increased from $63 a night to $75 a night. The pair rented the room after fleeing from Lauderdale County Jail in Alabama on April 29.

AL.com reported that Vicky and Casey White rented the room for 14 days, but police officers tracked them down on May 9, following an 11-day manhunt. After being spotted at an Evansville car wash, a car chase ensued which ended with Casey wrecking a stolen vehicle and Vicky, a passenger, fatally shooting herself in the head.

A clerk told AL.com that there is a lengthy waiting list for the room Casey and Vicky White stayed in, which is located on the ground floor.

Meanwhile, the man who reportedly rented the room for the Whites, Shawn Gardner, 51, was subsequently arrested for unrelated charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, and being a habitual offender. Police said that he is not facing charges for renting the motel room for the couple as it is not a crime.

Casey White was returned to Alabama on May 10 and is being held in state prison.
