WARNING: Massachusetts Towns Caution About Man Disabling Women’s Vehicles and Then Offering Help

Police in five Massachusetts cities are warning about a man who is vandalizing vehicles and then offering to help women who’ve been left stranded by the vandalization.

WFXT reports that incidents have taken place in Franklin, Holliston, Milford, Medway, and Bellingham, all southwest of Boston.

Bellingham and Milford police described a suspect as an Asian man in his late 30s driving a blue Chevy Impala with Massachusetts plates.

“He has been targeting young females by flattening their tires, filling their gas tanks with water than offering to drive them home,” Milford police said in a Facebook post. “If your vehicle has a flat tire DO NOT try and start it.”

Bellingham police said a suspect with the same description disabled a woman’s vehicle in the Charles River Center and approached her offering assistance.

Holliston and Franklin police did not share a description in Facebook posts, but Holliston police noted that “the individual may let air from a tire or add a gas tank contaminant, then approach the female to offer help in the form of a battery pack, air compressor or a ride,” and Franklin police said the person being investigated was spotted in that town on Friday.

Medway police did not post information, but WFXT said they were also involved in the investigation.

All of the departments urged anyone who believes their vehicle was tampered with to contact police.
