‘Senseless’: Dad and 4-Month-Old Son Shot Dead in Home, No Arrests Made

A man and his 4-month-old son were killed Sunday in a shooting in North Carolina.

WSOC said that Darion McClendon, 25, and his son, Da’mari McClendon, were found dead at the scene of a shooting in Monroe. A 9-year-old and an 11-year-old were reportedly also in the home at the time of the shooting.

No arrests have been made and it is unclear what led to the shooting.

“This is a very difficult time for our community and our officers in the face of this senseless act of violence. We are committed to bringing the perpetrator of this crime to justice,” Monroe Police Chief Bryan Gilliard commented.
