Autistic Boy With Down Syndrome Found Dead in Pond Hours After Disappearance

Virginia authorities said an intellectually-disabled 6-year-old boy was found dead in a pond on Monday, hours after his reported disappearance.

WINA reported that Landon Raber’s body was discovered not far from where he was last seen in Dillwyn. The boy was said to be nonverbal, autistic, and have Down syndrome.

The Toga Volunteer Fire Department said first-responders cleared the scene after Raber was found deceased, according to KFOR. Additional details regarding the 6-year-old’s disappearance were not disclosed.
