Paralegal Mom Found Dead Nearly 3 Weeks After Bolting Out of Home

A Texas woman who vanished earlier this month was found dead on Saturday.

The San Antonio Express-News reported that Christina Powell, 39, was found deceased in her vehicle parked outside the Huebner Oaks Shopping Center in San Antonio. A security guard said the car had been parked there for nearly a week, and there was a foul stench coming from it.

The guard called 911 after approaching the car and spotting Powell’s body, according to the news outlet.

My San Antonio reported that Powell was located in the front passenger seat. Police reportedly located Powell’s identification in the car, and they noted there was no visible trauma to her body.

Powell was last seen leaving the San Antonio home she shared with her mother and son on July 5. She had reportedly called her employer and told them she would be late to work but she never arrived. She reportedly left her cellphone and smartwatch at home.

Powell’s mother, Claudia Moble, confirmed the news of her daughter’s death in a Facebook post. “My beautiful daughter, Christina Powell, has been found, deceased. I am heartbroken. Thank you all for your prayers,” she wrote.

An autopsy is pending.
