2-Year-Old Boy Dies After Critical Shooting; Police Search for Suspect

A toddler found critically wounded earlier this week with a gunshot wound has died, and police are looking for a suspect.

Police in Portsmouth, Virginia, said the 2-year-old boy died on Saturday, according to WAVY.

Investigators said they were called to the location shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday and found the boy.

Detectives said they had charged Al Demond McNeil, 39, with murder, use of a firearm, and shooting in the commission of a felony and asked the public for help locating him.

They have not said what led to the shooting or to identifying McNeil as the suspect.

The boy’s identity has also not been released.
