A 36-year-old Indian woman cut of her live-in boyfriend’s penis this week after she allegedly “caught him red-handed” trying to rape her 14-year-old daughter.

The couple had lived together for about two years in the Maheveganj area of Uttar Pradesh’s Lahkimpur Kheri district, the Times of India reported.

“I was working in the farm when the incident took place,” the woman told the Times. “Fortunately, I returned home in the nick of time and caught him red-handed. He even attacked me while I was trying to save my daughter so I brought a knife from the kitchen and chopped off his private parts to teach him a lesson. I have no regrets for what I did.”

Lakhimpur police spokesman Chandrashekhar Singh said the suspect, 32-year-old, was charged with rape under the Indian Penal Code and the country’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.

“Since his condition was critical, he was referred to Lucknow for higher treatment,” Singh said.
