6-Year-Old Autistic Boy Taken By Dad & Grandmom Amid Custody Dispute

Florida officials have asked for the public’s help in locating a 6-year-old boy who was reportedly taken by his father and paternal grandmother on Saturday.

Jorge and Lilliam Morales, 45 and 68, picked up JoJo Morales from the boy’s mother’s home in Miami-Dade County. The boy’s mother, Yanet Concepcion, who had been rewarded custody, went to their home and discovered it was completely empty, according to WFOR.

“Everything was gone. Everything was gone from his apartment,” she told WTVJ. “His phones were off. His mom’s phone was off.”

Police said they would not issue an AMBER Alert because the father has partial custody, though he is in violation of a court order. Currently, the incident is classified as a missing person case.

The boy, who is autistic, was described as being 3 feet tall, weighing 50 pounds, and having brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, gray shorts, and black shoes.

The trio may be traveling in a 2006 gray Ford Expedition XLT with Florida tag CSIU53.

Anyone with information regarding this case should call Miami-Dade police at 305-715-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
