MISSING: 16-Year-Old Girl Vanishes From Sleepover Without Shoes

California authorities have asked for the public’s help in locating a 16-year-old girl who vanished on Thursday night.

Trinity Backus reportedly left a Nevada County home while wearing pajamas and a maroon robe. The missing teen’s aunt, Ashley Bjorklund, told Fox News that Backus was sleeping over at her home and she was not wearing shoes when she disappeared.

According to the news outlet, Backus’ friend who was also sleeping over at the time said she does not know where she went.

“She thought Trinity was coming back,” Bjorklund commented.

Backus was described as being 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, and having red hair and green eyes.

Nevada County police said more than a dozen agencies are assisting in the ongoing search.

Anyone with information regarding Backus’ whereabouts is asked to call the Nevada County Sheriff’s non-emergency dispatch center at 530-265-7880.
