UPDATE: Louisiana Woman Who Vanished Over Weekend Is Found Dead in Car in Bayou

A Louisiana woman who vanished on Saturday was reportedly found dead in her submerged car on Monday.

According to KPLC, the body of Stephany Fong, 32, was discovered in her Toyota Rav4, which was in 11 feet of water at the Bayou d’Inde in Sulphur. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Marine Division had been checking local waterways with sonar when Fong’s vehicle was detected.

Fong is believed to have vanished after leaving the Wagin Cajun casino in Sulphur and stopping at a nearby Valero station to get food.

Officials have not disclosed how or when Fong’s vehicle ended up in the bayou. However, Calcasieu Parish police said they do not suspect foul play at this time.
