Estranged Wife, Tennessee Man Charged in Murder of Missing Florida Man

A Florida woman and a Tennessee man have been arrested for the murder of the woman’s estranged husband, found dead last month in Indian River County.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said that Gianni Coto, 28, went to the home of his wife, 31-year-old Trinity Bownes, on January 21 and got into an argument with her. Brandon Jenkins, 29 — who lived at the wife’s home — became involved in the incident, and “at some point Coto was fatally stabbed,” police said.

His body was buried off State Route 60 in Indian River County.

Coto was reported missing on January 25, and detectives found his body five days later.

Broward detectives obtained arrest warrants for Jenkins and Bownes on February 1, and Jenkins was arrested in Clarksville, Tennessee, on February3 . Bownes turned herself into the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office in California the following day.

Both have been charged with first degree murder and tampering with evidence are are expected to extradited to Florida.
