‘Worst Nightmare’: School Janitor Arrested With Trove of Child Porn, Some Victims Just Infants

A school janitor in Florida was allegedly found possessing a trove of child pornography, including images of victims as young as infants, WPBF-TV reports.

Authorities arrested Jonathan Dibble after executing a search warrant on Tuesday at his home in Jensen Beach, where they found numerous still photos and videos containing the disturbing, explicit material.

“They’ve recovered over 100 child pornographic photos that depict children from the age of infant to 12 years old,” Martin County Chief Deputy John Budensiek told WPBF-TV

Officers seized multiple electronic devices from the residence, including computers and phones, which are now being examined.

Investigators do not believe any of the children in the images are “locally affiliated” and there is no evidence that the photos were captured using hidden cameras at area schools, Budensiek told WPEC-TV.

The 32-year-old Dibble worked as a janitor at Jensen Beach High School in the Martin County School District but is now banned from school grounds. He is being held on a $2.5 million bond in the Martin County Jail.

District spokesperson Jennifer DeShazo said Dibble passed multiple background checks. Still, she acknowledged the severity of the allegations.

“It’s a reprehensible crime,” DeShazo told WPBF-TV. “And being in the business of educating and safeguarding children, it’s absolutely our worst nightmare.”

Dibble allegedly played an unspecified role in some school clubs and programs. The school district is in the process of terminating Dibble’s employment but is required to follow due process regulations, Treasure Coast Newspapers reports.

Law enforcement is urging parents to speak with their children about the arrest and to report anything that raises concerns to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

“We want to make sure if there’s anyone on campus that may have been involved with something inappropriate with this employee that they come forward,” DeShazo told WPBF-TV.

To report information about the case, call the sheriff’s office at 772-220-7000.
