No Further Charges for Woman Whose Baby Was Found in Suitcase in Closet: Cops

A North Carolina woman charged with concealing the death of a child will face no further charges.

Synkel Davis, 34, was charged on February 8 when Roanoke Rapids police conducted a welfare check and found the infant wrapped in a blanket inside a suitcase, which was tucked into a closet, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

An autopsy found no injuries or trauma to the baby, WTVD reported, and police said no further charges would be forthcoming.

According to Halifax County jail records, Davis remains jailed on a $15,000 bond and is due in court on Thursday.
