‘Honest’ Kentucky Toddler Gives Up Fugitive’s Hiding Place

Police were pretty sure they knew where to find 45-year-old Tina Hicks, wanted for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and other charges. But when they arrived at the Williamsburg, Kentucky, location on Friday to serve their warrants, the adults in the house just couldn’t say whether she was there.

While Williamsburg officers and Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies paused to consider their next steps, they got a big assist from an unexpected source: A toddler suddenly stood up and put his hands on his hips, the sheriff’s department said in a Facebook post.

“It is good to be honest,” the young boy announced. “We shouldn’t lie. She is inside the room next to the bathroom.”

The officers immediately checked the spot where the “very brave and honest toddler” indicated, and sure enough, they found Tina Hicks.

Hicks was taken into custody, and Deputy Brentley Patrick “commended the toddler for his integrity and service to the community” before the officers left the scene.
