Cheerleading Coach Charged With Raping Daughter’s 16-Year-Old Ex-Boyfriend

A 45-year-old Oklahoma cheerleading coach is accused of having sex hundreds of times with her daughter’s former boyfriend, a relationship that started when the victim was just 16-years-old.

Now that woman is facing criminal charges and has been fired from her coaching position, KOCO-TV reports.

On Wednesday, police in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore arrested Jennifer Hawkins in connection with the allegations, which were first brought to light earlier this year when the victim wrote a letter to school officials.

“[Victim] described [Hawkins] as being very manipulative and controlling,” court documents obtained by KFOR-TV read.

The victim, now 21, told police that Hawkins first approached him about sex in 2017. At the time, he was a high school sophomore and was dating the woman’s daughter.

Hawkins would allegedly pick the teen up during his lunch break and bring him to her home, where they had sex. This happened nearly every day during his sophomore and junior years, while at some point the victim began living with Hawkins’ family, according to FOX 25.

The sexual relationship continued until 2022, with the victim estimating that they had sex more than 300 times, according to court records obtained by FOX 25.

When confronted with the allegations, Hawkins allegedly denied the relationship but then eventually confessed.

“Jennifer at first denied being in a sexual relationship with [him],” an affidavit in the case reads. “Jennifer then admitted she made a mistake and began crying and admitted to having been in a sexual relationship with [the former student].”

The document continued: “Jennifer talked about [his] age at the time they became sexual [16 years of age] and how their relationship would seem odd or inappropriate to other people.”

In one instance, Hawkins allegedly became angry with the victim because he was “observing” other females, the affidavit says.

A spokesperson for Moore Public Schools said Hawkins’ employment at Westmoore High School was terminated after the allegations were raised in January. The victim had attended a different school in the community.

“Once we were made aware of the situation Hawkins was immediately fired from working at Moore Public Schools,” a district spokesperson told FOX 25. “The safety and security of MPS students and employees is our foremost concern. MPS school officials will continue to assist law enforcement in their investigation of this matter.”

Hawkins has been charged with second-degree rape and sexual battery.
