GRAPHIC: Suspect Gives 4-Year-Old a Popsicle After Sexually Assaulting Her

A West Virginia man was arraigned on Monday for sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl in 2017.

At some point, the victim reportedly told a child advocacy worker that Shaine Black, 24, put his genitals in her mouth “for a while.” She also recalled him offering her a popsicle afterward, according to WTRF.

An investigation reportedly uncovered that Black and the victim’s mother live together. The mother does not have custody of the girl due to a 2018 incident that resulted in her suffering injuries to her skull and face. Black told police that the victim was like his child, WTRF reported.

Black allegedly admitted to the assault and said he felt sick about his actions. Despite this, he pleaded not guilty to sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust to a child, first-degree sexual assault, and first-degree sexual abuse at Monday’s arraignment hearing.

WTRF reported that Black is currently free on a $100,000 bond. He is barred from contacting the victim.
