Update: ‘Family Feud’ Contestant Arrested for Murdering Estranged Wife Before She Could Pick Up Her Children

The estranged husband of an Illinois woman who was found fatally shot last month was arrested Monday in connection with her death.

Tim Bliefnick, 39, allegedly shot Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, who KHQA reported was found dead at her home by a family member on February 23. As CrimeOnline previously reported, the slaying transpired at Rebecca’s home in Quincy, which is located about a mile from Tim’s residence.

Court documents indicated that Tim and Rebecca were going through a divorce, filed in 2021, and a court hearing was scheduled for April. Judge Debra Wellborn has since sealed the documents, though it is unclear why.

Tim’s arrest reportedly comes 12 days after police searched his home amid the homicide investigation.

According to KHQA, Tim appeared on the game show “Family Feud” in 2021.

Jailed without bond, Tim is charged with first-degree murder and home invasion. Quincy Police Chief Adam Yates said no other suspects have been identified in this case, Muddy River News reported.

Yates said, “This is an act of domestic violence.”
