Alabama Man Accused of Fatally Shooting His Dad, Dad’s Dog

An Alabama man has been charged with shooting to death is father and his dog this week.

Investigators found 55-year-old Tracy Poling dead at his home in Hamilton on Wednesday, AL.com reported.

Marion County Sheriff Kevin Williams said Hamilton police officers and firefighters and Marion County EMS were on scene when deputies arrived.

As deputies began processing the scene — finding shell casings near the bodies of Poling and the dog — other deputies found Poling’s son, 28-year-old Austin Poling, walking along Highway 187 nearby.

He was taken into custody and charged with murder and cruelty to animals.

Investigators have not revealed a motive for the shooting, nor did they say who called 911.

Austin Poling is being held on $160,000 bond.
