Son Follows Trail of Blood to Find Mom Murdered in Closet

Georgia police are investigating the death of a woman who was reportedly found dead in her home last week.

On April 14, Melinda Stevenson’s son went to her Atlanta apartment and found a trail of blood that led to her body in a closet. Police determined that Stevenson had blunt force trauma to her head and neck and her death likely stemmed from an ongoing dispute, according to WAGA.

“As of right now, we don’t know exactly who’s responsible. We might have some leads,” Stevenson’s son told the news outlet. “I hope that when we figure out whoever did it, they pay for it.”

Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Atlanta police’s homicide division.
