2 Teens Dead, 4 Wounded in Mississippi House Party Shooting

Six teenagers where shot — two fatally — early Sunday morning at a house party in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, officials said.

A 16-year-old victim and an 18-year-old victim died at University Medical Center in New Orleans, where they were taken after the shooting

One of the other four victims was said to be in critical condition, while the remaining three were in serious condition, Bay St. Louis police said.

All the victims were between 15 and 18, police said.

Investigators were called to the house just after 12:30 a.m. and soon identified 19-year-old Cameron Brand as the sole suspect in the shootin. He was arrested at his home in Pass Christian and initially charged with six counts of aggravated assault, but two of those charges have since been upgraded to murder.

He is being held without bond.

Police are still investigating and have not released any information about what led to the shooting. They have not identified the victims but said four of them were students at Hancock High School in Kiln, and the other two attended Bay High School in Bay St. Louis.

A law enforcement official told the Sun Herald that none of the victims had attended Bay High’s prom, which was held earlier on Saturday night.
