Missing Iowa Woman Found Dead in a Residential Yard

An Iowa woman reported missing in March has been found dead in the yard of a home about a half mile from where she was last seen nearly two months ago.

Jeanette Marie Bear, 30, was last seen on March 14 in Des Moines and reported missing two days later.

Police said she had been “voluntarily absent” in the past but had never been out of communication for this long, according to the Des Moines Register.

Investigators said the identification of the body is “tentative” and awaiting positive identification.

There were no obvious signs of trauma, police said.

Detectives are still investigating.
