Autistic 4-Year-Old Boy Who Vanished at Playground Found Dead on Shore

A 4-year-old Massachusetts boy was found dead on Monday, a day after he vanished from a playground.

Mohamed Fofana, who is autistic and nonverbal, was last seen at Castle Island playground in Boston. WBTS reported that his body was discovered on the shore of Spectacle Island, after being spotted by a state police boat.

Fofana’s grandfather said he was on the phone while watching the boy and his older sister when he disappeared. The grandfather said he realized Fofana was missing when it was time to leave, according to WCVB.

WBTS reported that Fofana was prone to wander off. During their search, crews zeroed in on a body of water between Dorchester Bay and the Boston Main Channel.
