‘She Didn’t Deserve it’: Nursing Student Days From Graduating Is Shot Dead With Friend Outside Hookah Lounge

Louisiana police are looking for a suspect who fatally shot two women last week.

Imani Williams and Ja’Diamond Jones, both 20, were killed as they left Treme hookah lounge in New Orleans on May 12. WAFB reported that Williams was shot multiple times during her 20th birthday celebration.

New Orleans police are reportedly searching for two vehicles that may be connected to the double homicide. According to WVUE, police will not say whether they have uncovered a motive in this case.

“She didn’t deserve that. She didn’t deserve that at all. I just try and get a grasp that that really did happen to her,” Jones’ grandmother told WVUE.

Reports indicated that Jones was to graduate from her community college’s nursing program on Thursday. Williams was attending Southern University at the time of her murder.

According to WSDU, Jones’ funeral took place today. Williams’ funeral is scheduled for May 27.
