CrimeCon 2023: World’s Largest True-Crime Event Opens Submissions for 2nd Annual ‘CLUE Awards’

CrimeCon is now accepting submissions for its second annual 2023 CLUE Awards. This prestigious awards program recognizes outstanding and ethical storytelling in true crime content, spanning various mediums such as publishing, television, documentary film, and podcasts.

The 2023 CLUE Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 23 at an awards gala during CrimeCon in Orlando. CrimeCon brings together true crime enthusiasts, creators, and professionals from around the world for an immersive experience focused on education, empathy, and advocacy.

Submissions for the CLUE Awards are now open and will be accepted until the final deadline on July 31.

The selection committee for the CLUE Awards consists of professionals from various sectors of the true crime genre, including producers, network and streaming executives, and other industry leaders.

The projects in each of the below categories will be honored at the event:

  5. “Outstanding Documentary Film”
  6. “True Crime Book of the Year”

CLUE is also set to present the second annual “Crimefighter of the Year” award, designed to recognize an individual or organization that has made a notable impact and demonstrated a strong dedication to pursuing justice for crime victims. Last year, The Black and Missing Foundation became the first recipient of the honorable award.

The deadline for early submissions is June 9. For regular submissions, submit by July 10. Nominees will be announced in August, with the ceremony to take place at the World Center Marriott in Orlando on September 13.
