Minnesota Teacher Charged With Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl After Mom Finds Text Messages

A Minnesota teacher and coach was arrested this week for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at the teacher’s home in Rochester.

Lindsey Rose Schneeberger, 24, was arraigned on Friday on three counts of first degree-criminal sexual conduct and given a $75,000 bond, the Post-Bulletin reported.

Schneeberger was a volleyball coach and physical education teacher at Pine Island Middle School, where she met the teenager, when the investigation began. She was placed on leave on March 6 because of an investigation, according to Pine Island Public Schools Superintendent Tamara Champa, who did not say what the investigation was about.

Police said the alleged incident took place between March 1 and May 23.

She resigned on March 16 and took a job with Byron Public Schools. She was still employed there when she was arrested. Byron Public Schools Superintendent Mike Neubeck said that the district learned about the allegations on Friday.

“There have been no allegations involving students at Byron Public Schools,” he said in a statement. “Ms. Schneeberger is not scheduled to work and will not have access to any students. Further information regarding her employment is private personnel data at this point in time.”

Rochester Police said that their investigation began when the student’s mother found text messages on the girl’s phone indicating an inappropriate relationship, KAAL reported.
