Daniel Robinson: New Details Released in Geologist’s Unsolved 2021 Disappearance

Arizona police publicized new details Wednesday in the case of a man who vanished in 2021.

Daniel Robinson, then 24, was last seen leaving his job site in Buckeye on June 23, 2021. His Jeep was found crashed in a ravine three miles away — and Buckeye police’s updated report stated that his cellphone data placed him at the crash site on the morning he disappeared, per KSAZ.

Though Tempe police helped analyze Robinson’s personal devices and work computer, it yielded no information about his whereabouts.

Someone claimed they saw Robinson at the Hassayampa River the day he vanished. However, police determined data from Robinson’s car and electronic devices contradict this.

Robinson’s father reported him missing, telling police that his son mentioned meeting a woman and being in love with her. Robinson’s father and a co-worker who was the last person to see him said he had been acting odd, according to KSAZ.

The woman reportedly denied being in a relationship with Robinson and said she only knew him for less than two weeks. She claimed she ordered Instacart and Robinson was the delivery person. She said she and a friend were drunk and invited him inside, according to KSAZ.

The woman said Robinson texted her that he had left something at her home. She said that he began acting “creepy,” showing up to her home unannounced before retrieving the item without her permission. The woman said she texted him, asking him to stop coming unannounced, and he texted “I love you.”

Daniel texted the woman saying he accidentally left something of his there. That’s when the woman says Daniel started acting “creepy” by showing up unannounced and getting his item without her permission.

KSAZ reported that the woman texted Robinson about coming to her home unannounced. Robinson responded, “I love you,” and asked if she was at home.

The last text Robinson allegedly sent to the woman read, “The world can get better, but I’ll have to take all the time I can, or we can, whatever to name it. I’ll either see you again or never see you again.”

It’s not clear how long before his disappearance he met the woman.

KPHO reported that human remains were found on two instances but neither belonged to Robinson. In late January, police got a tip that remains were in a well less than a mile from where Robinson was last seen but nothing was recovered.

Buckeye Police said their investigation remains active. Anyone with information regarding Daniel Robinson’s disappearance or whereabouts is asked to call Buckeye police at 623-349-6411.
