2 Dead in Mass Shooting at Dance Music Festival in Washington

Two people were killed and three more wounded over the weekend when gunfire rang out at a campground near Washington state’s Gorge Amphitheatre, where the Beyond Wonderland electronic dance music festival was taking place.

The suspect was one of the three wounded Saturday night, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said.

The festival continued after the shooting, with organizers asking attendees to avoid a specific gate at the campground, but the second day of the festival on Sunday was later cancelled.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said that police were called in just before 8:30 p.m. and that the suspected gunman “walked away from where the incident happened” but “continued to randomly shoot into the crowd” after officers arrived on scene, according to NBC News.

“We don’t know what the motives were or what the intentions were of the shooter, and we’ll have to wait and see if we can find that information out later on,” he said.

Investigators have not released any information about the victims or the suspect.
