Idaho Man Guns Down Family Because of Alleged Indecent Exposure Incident

Majorjon Kaylor told deputies he “snapped,” “lost it,” and “did something about it” when he wasn’t satisfied that the allegations against the family’s 18-year-old son were being taken seriously.

An Idaho man murdered family living downstairs from him because of an indecent exposure incident involving the neighbor’s 18-year-old son.

Majorjon Kaylor, 31, is charged with four counts of first degree murder for the deaths of Kenneth Guardipee, 65; his daughter Kenna Guardipee, 41; and her sons Devin Smith, 18; and Aiken Smith, 16; on Sunday, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

Kaylor told deputies he was suspicious of Devin Smith, calling him a “pedophile,” KHQ reported. His wife, Kaylie Kaylor. told officers that the 18-year-old had been standing in front of his bedroom window, nude and fondling himself, while she and the couple’s young daughters were out in the yard.

The Kaylors reported the incident to police, they said. Kellogg Police Chief Paul Twidt told The Associated Press the police report was forwarded to the county prosecutor the same day.

On Sunday, with no charges filed, the Kaylors argued with the Guardipees over the allegation, telling them they didn’t think it was being taken seriously. Majorjon Kaylor reportedly told investigators he “snapped,” “lost it” and “did something about it” — gunning down the two adults near the front door, then going inside to kill the two teens, the probable cause affidavit said, according to KREM.

According to the affidavit, Kaylie Kaylor told detectives that her husband gave her his wallet, keys, and phone after the murders, telling her to tell the children that “he protected them.”

Kenneth Guardipee’s brother, Russell Guardipee, told KHQ that his brother helped Kenna raise the two boys and that Devin Smith had some behavioral issues. He did not provide details. But a longtime family friend told the Spokesman-Review that Devin struggled with a learning disability and had difficulty with social cues. He was working to move past those issues, she said, and had just graduated from high school.

Kaylor, who has not entered a plea, was remanded to jail without bond at a hearing on Tuesday. A preliminary hearing has been set for July 3.
