Horror as 14-Year-Old Boy Drowns at Beach in Front of Mom

A 14-year-old boy reportedly drowned on Sunday while swimming at a New York beach.

Lifeguards had left Rockaway Beach in Queens about 30 minutes before the deadly incident. Witnesses told WABC that the beach closed early due to thunder and lightning.

The teen’s mother was reportedly at the beach at the time. Some of the lifeguards were heading back to their clubhouse when someone screamed that there was a person in the water, according to WABC.

An ex-lifeguard who was at the beach told WABC that she jumped in the water and helped rescue the teen. She said the teen was foaming from the mouth and blue.

“He was in there for four or five minutes,” she told WLNY.

The teen was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police have not released his name.
