4 Dead in Suburban Atlanta Shooting; Gunman on the Run

At least four people — three men and a woman —  were shot and killed Saturday morning in a subdivision south of Atlanta, and authorities are searching for a suspect they consider to be armed and dangerous.

Neither Hampton Police Chief James Turner nor Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett provided few details about the shooting incident, but they named the suspect as 40-year-old Andre Longmore and said he is believed to be driving a black 2017 GMC Acadia with Georgia tag number DHF756. The vehicle does not belong to him, Turner said.

Four warrants for murder have been issued for the suspect, and Scandrett said that his office would “be looking for this individual until he’s caught.”

The sheriff’s office has put up a $10,000 reward for information leading to Longmore’s arrest, but Scandrett stressed that anyone who sees him should not approach.

“Wherever you are. we will hunt you down in any hole that you may be residing in, period,” Scandrett said, directly addressing the suspect.

Turner said investigators were working four different crime scenes in the Dogwood Lakes subdivision in Hampton and that all four victims were found in close proximity.

Jennifer Gill, a patron at the Forston Public Library, about a half mile from Dogwood Lakes, told WSB that a woman ran into the library Saturday morning and said she feared for her life and that her phone had been taken from her so she couldn’t call for help. Library staff took the woman into the back and presumably called 911, Gill said, because police were soon in the area.

Turner would not confirm that report during the press conference.

Police have not released the names of the victims because notifications have not been completed.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 404 577 8477.
