Boyfriend of Kentucky Woman Found Dead in Forest Charged With Arson

The boyfriend of a missing Kentucky woman who was found dead last week has been arrested for setting fire inside a car near where she disappeared.

Timothy Winterholler, 37, reported 24-year-old Lynnden Bray missing on Thursday at about 10 p.m., according to WDRB.

Bray was last seen walking her dogs near a trailhead in Louisville’s Jefferson Memorial Forest. Her body was found in the forest Friday afternoon.

In the course of the investigation, Louisville police said that Winterholler admitted intentionally setting a fire on the driver’s seat of a car to damage or destroy it. The fire only damaged the seat.

The car was found in Jefferson Memorial Forest. It’s not clear if the car was Bray’s, which was found, along with her dogs, before the body was located.

Bray died by “ligature hanging,” the county coroner said, according to WLKY.

Winterholler has pleaded not guilty to the arson charge and is being held on a $50,000 bond. He has not been charge in connection with Bray’s death, which is still under investigation.
