Georgia Man Confronts Officers With Gun After Killing Wife, Tries to Escape Out Back Door: Cops

A 70-year-old Georgia man was arrested Monday after he allegedly shot and killed his wife.

Charles “Terry” Collins reportedly met police at his front door with a gun when they responded to a call about a person shot early Monday morning. Officers ordered him to drop the weapon, but he ignored them and went back inside and then out the back door, where officers arrested him, WXIA reported.

Holly Springs police and Cherokee County deputies found Deborah Collins, 63, dead inside the home.

Terry Collins has been charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. He’s being held without bond at the Cherokee County Detention Center.
