Does Gilgo Beach Murders Suspect Rex Heuermann Have Ties to Atlantic City, and 4 Murders There?

A dancer at an Atlantic City boardwalk strip club says she thinks she’s seen Long Island serial killer suspect Rex Heuermann at the club, giving him ties to the East Coast town where another four sex workers were found dead along a highway in 2006.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, investigators so far have found no ties between Heuermann, the accused Gilgo Beach murderer, and the four women found dead in a watery ditch in Egg Harbor Township, behind a row of beachfront hotels just outside Atlantic City itself.

Two women walking in the marsh on November 21, 2006, found the remains of 35-year-old Kim Raffo. Police arrived on the scene and soon found the remains of Tracy Ann Roberts, 23; Barbara Breidor, 42; and Molly Dilts, 19, Fox News said. All four victims in what prosecutors call the Black Horse Pike murders and what Fox called the Eastbound Strangler were oriented in the same direction and were face down and barefoot.

Investigators have said they are looking into other unsolved disappearances and murders, especially in areas where Heuermann has ties, such as South Carolina, where he owns property, and Las Vegas, where he has a time share.

The Atlantic City dancer, who told Fox she works at Stiletto, said she believes she saw Heuermann three times at the club — twice before the coronavirus pandemic and a third time in 2021. She said he paid for a private room all three times but declined a lap dance.

“He just wanted me to sit and talk with him and then would keep persuading me to meet him outside of the club, and I never went,” she said. “I’ve met people outside of the club before, so I’m not stranger to it, but this guy made me feel uncomfortable.”

The dancer said she wasn’t absolutely sure the man was Heuermann but said he was a large New Yorker with a similar face. She also said she saw him on Tinder after that.

Fox said that a parking attendant next door to the club reported recognizing Heuermann as an infrequent visitor, as did clerks at some nearby stores. But bartenders at nearby clubs said they either didn’t recognize him or weren’t sure if their recognition was from TV coverage or his visit to their clubs.

Heuermann is charged with the deaths of Amber Costello, Megan Waterman, and Melissa Barthelemy and is the prime suspect in the death of Maureen Brainard-Barnes. He has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court on August 1.
