Adoptive Mom Creates GoFundMe for 5-Year-Old Son, She’s Now Accused of Killing Him

A Pennsylvania couple was charged on Thursday in connection with Feburary’s death of the woman’s adoptive 5-year-old son.

Landon Maloberti, died on February 7, a week after he was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital unconscious. Tribune Live reported that Lauren Maloberti — the adoptive mother accused of killing him — and her husband, Jacob, created a GoFundMe page for their son two days after he was admitted to the hospital.

“I rushed him to the er and they intubated him and hes been unresponsive ever since ….the outcome is not looking good…. we need to prepare for the most un imaginable outcome …..our baby boys funeral šŸ™Ā I don’t have much else to say as my heart is breaking in a million pieces right now,” the page reads.

According to WPXI, a forensic exam revealed that Landon Maloberti had prior injuries and suffered abuse before his death. As a result, his adoptive mother and her husband were being investigated for child abuse leading up to his death.

Lauren and Jacob Maloberti, 34 and 33, are charged with homicide, child endangerment and aggravated assault. They are awaiting arraignment.
