SEE IT: Accused Drunk Driver Who Killed Bride on Wedding Day Sobs as Judge Denies Bond

A South Carolina judge denied bond Tuesday for Jamie Komoroswki, who stands accused of causing the death of newlywed moments after she left her wedding reception.

Live 5 reports that Komorowski sobbed as Judge Michael Nettles denied bond, explaining that 25-year-old Komorowki is considered a flight risk. She stands accused of three counts of DUI resulting in great bodily injury or death,

“The state has until March of 2024 to try this case. If that does not take place, the defendant is to be released on a $150,000 surety bond, she will be subject to electronic monitoring and house arrest, she is only to leave her home for a medical emergency or a prior order of the court,” Nettles said.

“She will also be required to wear a SCRAM monitor, which monitors the alcohol with a sensor. It’s a fairly sophisticated device and virtually impossible to tamper with.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, newlywed Samantha Hutchinson was pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m. on April 28. She was riding with her husband, Aric Hutchinson, and others in a low-speed vehicle (LSV) when Komoroskli plowed into the vehicle in Folly Beach.

The bride and groom were only a few blocks away from home when tragedy struck. They were seated in the back of the LSV with others in the front.

Police said that a blood test revealed that Komoroski had a blood alcohol content (BAC) level of .261, which is over three times the legal limit in the state. She’s also accused of driving up to 65 mph in a 25mph zone.

Komoroski, according to police, became uncooperative following the crash and claimed she only had a few drinks, while refusing a sobriety test. She claimed she “only briefly hit the brakes” before hitting the LSV, investigators said, according to the Times Union.

Folly Beach Public Safety Department Director Andrew Gilreath said that the LSV, which is similar to a golf cart, was legal to drive on the road and had its light on when struck.
