Ohio Man Confesses to Killing His Wife, Who Had Protective Order Against Him

An Ohio man was found dead on Sunday after he confessed to police that he killed his wife.

Union Township police said that William Pratt, 55, reported on Thursday that he’d found Katrina Pratt, 55, covered in blood with a head injury, WLWT reported. Police and emergency medical personnel arrived and pronounced the victim dead.

Police spoke with William Pratt on Saturday, and during the call, he told police that he had killed his wife on Thursday.

He was found dead at a home in Fairfield, about 30 miles away, on Sunday.

Police are awaiting an autopsy to determine cause of death.

WKRC reported that William Pratt was arrested in July after a fight with his wife in which he threw multiple items — including a vacuum cleaner — at her. He was also charged with driving under the influence that night. Katrina Pratt got a protection order filed against him after the incident.

She was found dead in a bedroom surrounded by a pool of blood with “visible injuries to her head.”

Police were unable to locate the husband immediately after his wife’s death until the phone call on Saturday. They did not describe how that came about. They did say that his confessions matched evidence found at the scene.
