Dispute Over McDonald’s Sweet-and-Sour Sauce Led to 16-Year-Old Girl’s Stabbing Death: Cops

A dispute over dipping sauces reportedly led to Sunday’s slaying of a 16-year-old girl near a McDonald’s in Washington, D.C.

Naima Liggon and the 16-year-old female suspect ordered food at the fast-food restaurant before getting into a car together. WUSA reported that Liggon was fatally stabbed in the car during an argument over which sauces they got.

Detective Brendan Jasper said three girls were involved in the altercation which stemmed from sweet-and-sour sauces. Jasper claimed security cameras caught Liggon and another girl striking a 16-year-old who initially did not defend themself, according to The Washington Post.

Liggon and her friend were getting in their vehicle when the 16-year-old suspect allegedly stabbed Liggon in the chest and abdomen with a 7-and-a-half-inch pocket knife.

Liggon was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Doctors were unable to save her.

WUSA reported that the teen girl was in possession of a knife when she was arrested on Sunday. She was located a block away from where the stabbing occurred, according to WRC.

The 16-year-old girl, who has not been publicly named due to her age, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, assault with intent to kill, aggravated assault, felony assault, and carrying a dangerous weapon. Though her attorneys are claiming self-defense, prosecutors said the fight was over when the stabbing transpired.
