Mom Murdered 9-Month-Old Daughter Found Lifeless in Bedroom

A Virginia woman was arrested on Wednesday, more than a week after her 9-month-old daughter was found dead in a home.

Richmond police’s public affairs director James Mercante told WTVR that cops responded to the residence on October 2 and found the infant with “obvious signs” of trauma in a bedroom. The girl later died at the hospital, and her mother, Breonna Green, 29, was charged with first-degree murder.

Despite Green’s arrest, the girl’s cause and manner of death are pending. Sources told WTVR that police expedited their case against Green to prosecutors — resulting in a grand jury returning a murder indictment.
