Nanny, Already Charged With Child Porn, Now Charged With Molesting 8-Month-Old Baby

Prosecutors have added child molestation charges for a California nanny already behind bars on charges of producing child porn with an 8-month-old child in her care.

Michelle Nicole Hidalgo, 28, was arrested on September 23 on child porn charges after an unidentified social media company tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about pornographic images of an infant shared on the platform, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office said, according to KTVU.

Hidalgo, employed as a part-time caregiver for the baby, was accused of sending sexually explicit photos of the infant to an unidentified user on the platform. The two chatted in a series of messages in which Hidalgo offered to take more photos and said she would engage in oral sex with the infant, an affidavit said.

Investigators tracked her down via her IP address and confronted her with the evidence. She reportedly admitted taking the photos and sharing them online. She initially denied sexually abusing the child, however.

Hidalgo was charged with seven counts of producing and distributing child pornography and was ordered held on a $700,000 bond.

Investigators later accessed her iCloud account, where they found photographic evidence of her sexually abusing the baby. With three new counts of child sexual molestation, Hidalgo’s bond was increased to $3.4 million, according to jail records.
