Toddler Shoots Himself With Loaded, Unsecured Handgun at Michigan Gas Station

A 2-year-old Michigan boy is in critical condition after he was left alone in a car with a loaded handgun and shot himself Tuesday afternoon.

Lansing police and emergency medical personnel responded to a Sunoco gas station where the shooting took place, WILX reported.

The boy was rushed to a hospital.

According to WMSN, officers found the gun still in the car.

A suspect ran from the scene rather than stay and talk with law enforcement, but the 44-year-old man didn’t get far before police caught up with him.

It’s not clear if he has been charged.
