Long Island Man Points Gun at 6-Year-Old Retrieving Bag of Candy Mistakenly Left on His Porch

A Long Island man has been charged with menacing and endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly pointed a gun at a 6-year-old boy retrieving a bag of candy mistakenly left on his doorstep.

Manhasset police said the incident happened Saturday evening when a mother tood her daughter, two sons, and a nephew to drop a goody bag at a the house of the 10-year-old girl’s friend, WABC reported.

The group mistakenly left the candy on the from porch of Michael Wen, 43. When the group realized it was the wrong house, the mom turned around, and the 6-year-old ran back up to the porch to pick up the bag — and Wen opened the door and pointed his gun at the child’s head.

He reportedly yelled, “Get the f*** off my property” at the boy, police said, according to WNBC.

Wen was arraigned Sunday morning and is due back in court in November.
