Nevada Man Arrested for Antisemitic Threats to US Senator Jacky Rosen

A Las Vegas man has been charged with making threats to a Jewish US Senator from Nevada.

The US Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada did not name the senator, but the office of Senator Jacky Rosen, who once served as president of her synagogue, confirmed she was the recipient of 43-year-old John Anthony Miller’s often profane threats.

“Threats against public officials should be taken seriously,” a spokesperson for her office said in a statement, CBS News reported. “Senator Rosen trusts the US Attorney’s Office and federal law enforcement to handle this matter.”

According to the complaint against Miller, the threats began on October 11, four days after Hamas militants crossed from Gaza into Israel and slaughtered 1,400 people, kicking over a now ever-escalating war.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, Miller left multiple threatening voicemails at Rosen’s office on October 17, threatening “to assault, kidnap, or murder the United States Senator with intent to impede, intimidate, or interfere with the United States Senator while engaged in the performance of official duties, or with intent to ratliate against the United States Senator on account of the performance of official duties.”

Later, Miller reportedly arrived at the Lloyd D. George Courthouse in Las Vegas, telling security there he intended to see Rosen. After he was denied entry to the court house, “he became agitated and started yelling and shouting profanities,” the US Attorney’s statement said.

The complaint against him says that Miller left a final message on October 24 threatening the senator’s family, according to the Post.

Miller called Rosen “vermin” and said he planned to “finish what Hitler started,” according to the complaint.

“You done picked your side bitch and you done chose evil. I don’t give a f*** if you were born into it or not, bitch, you are f****** evil, bitch and we’re gonna exterminate you, f***,” the complaint says.

In another call, Miller told Rosen he was “sorry to say, but ya know what, you’re a piece of s*** and you’re gonna burn in f****** hell for your f****** crimes.”

On the day he tried to go inside the federal courthouse and was denied entry, he allegedly headed down Las Vegas Boulevard shouted that he wanted “to kill every last Israeli terror-f******-ist.”

Authorities identified him after he left his name in one message. They also compared surveillance footage from October 18 to a 2022 mugshot.

Miller was arrested on October 26 and has a preliminary hearing scheduled on November 13, the US Attorney’s Office said.
